My name is Helen, I'm a mad animal lover, and ever since a young child I loved anything soft and fluffy!
I Loved the big eyes soft coats of the Persian cat. I’d had Persians for 20 odd years, and had the odd litter of half Persians when my cats managed to get out and get pregnant by a street cat! All these years later, I learned to keep them safe and indoors only!
I started breeding pure breed Persians in 2014. I had bred Shih Tzu puppies for about 15 years from my pets as a hobby. I was online looking at a website for Kittens in the USA and saw photos of Persians with Short legs! Several names popped up for them, Napoleon or Minuet, Teacup, Miniature Persians or Rug Huggers in the USA was more popular! How adorable they looked, sitting on their hind legs like a meetcat, I was immediately hooked!. I could not find a breeder anywhere in the UK! I was desparate for one! I even considered shipping one over from the US at an astronomical cost! However I came to my senses when I realised the risks involved, as well as having to wait till the kitten was 6 months old due to quarantine rules, jabs etc, I would have missed out on that crucial kitten bonding stage.
The only way I was gonna get my Rug-Hugger was to breed one myself!.. I kept looking daily, for a long haired Munchkin, nothing came up, only short haired and not very pretty! It took me 3 years of looking and found her, I called her ‘Lumi’. I couldn’t have wished for a better colour to go with my Golden Persian, she was white, and produced either white or Golden kittens, perfect!!
I finally got my first 'Rug-Hugger' Minuet in early 2017 called ‘Mimsi.’ Now I have 5 Short leg females, and 2 Persian Stud boys, creating a lot more colours! To date I have created 5 generations of Minuets, each generation creating Prettier Doll Faced kittens!
